Our culture is the foundation of everything we do — shaping how we work, collaborate, and grow as a business. It’s built by our people, driven by a shared sense of purpose, and strengthened by pride in the work we deliver.

Living Our Values

Family is weaved into our culture and at the core of this is a responsibility to take care of ourselves, our colleagues and the communities in which we work. As part of this we have several culture initiatives that protect this and help us live out our values.

Creating Collaborative Workspaces

We've invested in our offices and hubs to ensure we have welcoming, central spaces where teams can come together, collaborate and build connections.

Empowering Young People

Our Young Person’s Committee provides a platform for younger team members to communicate directly with our senior leadership, ensuring their voices are heard.
The committee also organises social events to encourage connections beyond the workplace.

Social Events with Purpose

From charity fundraisers to company BBQs, we regularly bring people together in relaxed settings that foster camaraderie and support great causes.

Celebrating Together

Each year, we host end of year social events as a chance to reflect on key achievements and milestones, bringing the entire Mackenzie team together in celebration.

Impactful Partnerships

We’re proud of our partnerships with Paralympic Nordic skier Scott Meenagh and the Glasgow Warriors – both of whom inspire our team and share our values of resilience, teamwork, and community.

Supporting Mental Health

We care deeply about our people and are committed to ensuring they return home safely every day — not just physically, but mentally too. To support this, we have a fully trained team of internal mental health first aiders who are available to offer a listening ear or direct people to additional resources if needed.

Our Valued Culture Partners

Scott Meenagh – People Ambassador

As part of our commitment to people and creating a supporting and collaborative environment, Mackenzie Construction appointed Para Nordic skier, Scott Meenagh, as its People Ambassador in 2019. Scott has fully integrated himself with the Mackenzie Construction business and has played a huge part in engaging and inspiring our people.

Through various speaker sessions Scott has shared his insights on important topics such as change, mental resilience and motivation and his friendly, down-to-earth approach completely aligns with our culture.

Glasgow Warriors Sponsorship

Mackenzie Construction has been the Official Civil Engineering Partner of the Glasgow Warriors since 2018. The relationship between the club and our business goes far beyond a standard sponsorship agreement with our shared values strongly cementing our long-term partnership.

These shared values have seen us collaborate on important causes such as raising awareness for some brilliant charities, keeping our people motivated through the COVID-19 pandemic and inspiring our young people.

"We have had a strong partnership with Mackenzie Construction for more than five years now. Our two organisations have a lot of shared values, including our passion for the community, and we have built a strong connection between our players, coaches and Mackenzie Construction’s People Ambassador Scott Meenagh. We both strive to make a positive impact on the places where we live and work, and it’s great to be able to work together on this goal with Andy Dalrymple and his team."

Community & Social Impact

Charity of the Year

Our dedication to giving back to the communities in which we live and work sees us supporting a new charity every year aligned to a cause that means something to us as a business.

In the past we have supported amazing charities such as Chris’s House and My Name’5 Doddie and this year are supporting Cash for Kids.

Community engagement

We work to minimise the disruption our operations can cause locally at a community level as well as promoting positive impacts in the environments we work in.

This involves engaging with the local community at all stages of our projects and establishing a partnership to give us a clear understanding of their needs. We also support local causes where possible with resources and labour and have provided community clean ups and landscaping works for schools and hospitals.
