Investing in our safety culture with drama-based training
Mackenzie Construction has partnered with Macnaughton McGregor (2macs) to deliver drama-based safety workshops that bring real on-site scenarios to life. The sessions encourage teams to think, react and communicate as they would in genuine situations reinforcing how the right decisions can prevent incidents and keep everyone safe.
The sessions form a key part of Mackenzie Construction’s commitment to living its safety values and driving continuous improvement across the business. Recognising the pressures faced on site around time, cost and expectations, the workshops focus on equipping teams with the knowledge and confidence to make responsible decisions and challenge unsafe behaviours.
The sessions have explored how individuals can respond under pressure and highlighted the importance of safety-led decision making. Following positive feedback, we have engaged 2macs to deliver further sessions at our annual training days for both civils and structural refurbishment teams.
Scott Harvey, Compliance Director at Mackenzie Construction, said:
“The sessions delivered by 2macs have been highly engaging and highly relevant to the site environments in which we operate. With safety deeply embedded into our culture, we must ensure that we continue to train and develop our people, and the drama-based approach has been a new way to keep safety at the forefront of our team’s minds. The feedback from across the business and our partners has been fantastic.”
This approach reflects Mackenzie Construction’s ongoing commitment to ensuring every employee returns home safely at the end of each day while continually seeking innovative ways to strengthen its safety culture.
