Mackenzie Construction Marks 45th Anniversary with Daring Kelpies Challenge for WaterAid
Mackenzie Construction marked its 45th anniversary in an unforgettable way, combining celebration with charity at the iconic Kelpies in Falkirk. On the 19th of November, World Toilet Day and Mackenzie’s day of inception, 45 participants took on the Kelpies Challenge, climbing through the towering horse sculpture before abseiling down, all to raise vital funds for water charity WaterAid. After all participants had completed the challenge, the sculptures were then lit up in blue, honouring WaterAid and drawing attention to the cause.
The event successfully raised over £32,000 to support WaterAid’s global projects providing clean water, decent toilets, and good hygiene. Despite the freezing temperatures, participants braved the cold, conquered their fears and enjoyed some striking views from inside the horse’s mouth.
We would like to thank Scottish Canals for providing access to the facilities, the leaders who guided us safely through the Kelpies Challenge, and all our partners and supply chain who took part. Most of all, we are grateful to everyone who supported or donated, helping us make a real difference through WaterAid for communities in need.
